De voetbalwereld leeft mee met de gebeurtenissen in Manchester. Maandagavond kwam vlak na een optreden van popster Ariana Grande een bom tot ontploffing, waardoor 22 mensen overleden.
Vrienden en familie van betrokkenen krijgen inmiddels steunbetuigingen vanuit de hele wereld, ook de voetbalwereld is met het hart in Manchester. De UEFA en Manchester United, dat woensdag in Zweden de finale van de Europa League speelt tegen Ajax, reageerden geschokt. "We zijn diep geschokt door de verschrikkelijke gebeurtenissen gisteravond in de Manchester Arena. Onze gedachten en gebeden gaan uit naar alle betrokkenen", zei Manchester United in een statement op Twitter.
Verschillende voetballers en clubs hebben inmiddels gereageerd via social media.
